Job summary

Australia Post in Mudgee is seeking a Motorcycle Delivery Driver to join our part-time team. Start each day at the Mudgee Delivery Centre and deliver mail and small parcels to homes and businesses with safety and reliability.

You’ll complete vehicle checks, load deliveries, and work with Rider Mentors to develop your skills. The role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 1:30pm, with opportunities to progress and access Post Perks.

About the opportunity

In this role, you’ll begin each day early as part of a supportive delivery team, preparing mail and small parcels at the facility before heading out to deliver to homes and businesses. You’ll complete daily vehicle safety checks, load your deliveries with care, and carry out reliable deliveries, with safety and consistency guiding every step.

You’ll be supported by experienced Rider Mentors who provide hands‑on guidance and coaching, helping you build confidence, capability and consistency in the role. You’ll be

• Starting your day early in the morning, sorting mail and small parcels with your teammates at the facility
• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
• Loading your vehicle with your deliveries for the day
• Delivering outdoors in all types of weather to deliver to homes and businesses
• Paired up with our experienced Rider Mentors, who are committed to engage and take part in your professional development

About you

• You hold a full or probationary NSW motorcycle licence, and ride a geared motorcycle regularly, and confidently
• On employment, you’ll need to successfully pass our mandatory and practical motorcycle assessment
• You are flexible with finishing times and working additional hours to support service outcomes
• You have a good memory, great hand/eye coordination, and excellent attention to detail for when sorting mail
• You enjoy physical work indoors and outdoors and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
• You will need to meet our safe working vehicle load limit of weighing under 100kgs fully clothed (including helmet)
• You are open to being flexible to transition to be trained and deliver on an Electric Delivery Vehicle if business requirements change
• Keen to learn and grow, with pathways into senior delivery or mentoring roles

• Pay rate for this role is $32.34ph for the first 3 months, then $36.99ph once fully trained plus 12% superannuation

Training and Support

At Australia Post, our training and induction programs offer support to ensure we set you up for success. You will attend an induction in your first week with our Learning and Development Team followed by a site‑specific induction at your respective facility and additional online learning modules. As a new employee, you will receive one‑on‑one coaching, followed by regular check‑ins with your Manager and Trainer to track progress, provide feedback, and discuss any support needed. We assess development at the end of each month during your probationary period, with adjustments or additional training as required. The program includes site‑specific inductions and hands‑on training, building employees up to full delivery capacity within six weeks. Our approach is flexible, ensuring long‑term success and continuous growth.
