Job summary

Noosa Auto Group, operating Noosa Hyundai and associated brands, seeks a skilled Motor Mechanic to join its workshop in Noosaville. You will diagnose, service, repair and maintain Hyundai vehicles, collaborating with service advisors and parts staff to deliver quality customer service and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of three years’ post-trade experience in an automotive workshop.
• Experience diagnosing engine, electrical, and system faults is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain Hyundai vehicles and related models.
• Inspect vehicles and diagnose mechanical, electrical and system faults.
• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on engines, brakes, suspension and electrical components.
• Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer software to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Keep records of service and repair work with accuracy.
• Provide clear repair recommendations to customers when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, well-organised workshop and support workflow with colleagues.
• Participate in ongoing training and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.

The Noosaville location provides sales of new, used, and demonstrator Hyundai vehicles, alongside comprehensive servicing, parts, and accessories support. The Role Noosa Auto Group is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join its workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining Hyundai vehicles and related models. This role involves close collaboration with service advisors, parts staff, and fellow technicians in a customer-focused and team-oriented environment.

Major duties include:

• Conducting vehicle inspections and diagnostics to identify mechanical, electrical, and system faults
• Performing servicing, maintenance, and repair work on engines, braking systems, suspension, and electrical components
• Using diagnostic tools and manufacturer-specific software to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Ensuring all work complies with Hyundai manufacturer specifications, service standards, and industry best practices
• Maintaining accurate and detailed service and repair records
• Keeping up to date with evolving Hyundai technologies and automotive advancements
• Communicating clearly with customers regarding repair processes and recommendations when required
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑organised workshop environment
• Coordinating with service advisors, parts staff, and technicians to support efficient workflow
• Participating in ongoing training and professional development programs
• Mentoring and supporting junior technicians and apprentices
• Assisting with advanced diagnostics or manufacturer support tasks as required

About You The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
• A minimum of three years’ post-trade experience in an automotive workshop environment
• Experience diagnosing engine, electrical, and system faults (preferred but not essential)
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• A proactive and professional attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Experience working with Hyundai vehicles or similar marques (advantageous but not mandatory)
