Job summary

Workshop City Pty Ltd in Welshpool is seeking a qualified motor mechanic for a full-time, ongoing role. You will perform logbook and standard servicing on passenger vehicles, 4WDs and light commercials, diagnose faults with workshop scan tools, and carry out brake, suspension and cooling system work.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, has at least one year in a workshop, can work across many makes, and is eligible to be a certified tradesperson

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent overseas qualification.
• At least 1 year of workshop experience.
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and electronic fault finding.
• Able to work across a range of makes and models regardless of brand.
• Eligible to be a certified tradesperson under WA Motor Vehicle Repairers Act.
• Unrestricted right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Logbook and standard servicing across passenger vehicles, 4WDs and light commercials.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using workshop scan tools and test equipment.
• Brake, clutch, suspension and steering repairs and replacements.
• Cooling system work, head gasket repairs and engine replacements.
• Transmission servicing and repairs.
• Tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignments.
• Registration and pre-pits inspections.
• Fitting 4WD accessories such as lift kits, bull bars and driving lights.
• Road testing vehicles before and after repair, and confirming the fault is fixed.
• Quoting jobs, ordering parts and explaining the work to customers in plain language.
• Attending mobile call-outs when required.
• Keeping accurate job cards and service records, and working to workshop safety procedures.

Job description

Workshop City is a licensed motor vehicle repair business (MRB11638) operating from Welshpool. We service and repair all makes and models, from Toyota and Ford through to European vehicles, and we also run a mobile service for customers who cannot get to the workshop.

We are looking for a qualified motor mechanic to join the team on a full time, ongoing basis.
