Job summary

IPD Group is seeking a skilled Pre-Sales Solution Engineer – Motor Control Solutions to join ourProduct Management and Marketing team. This role may be based in NSW, QLD, or VIC and involves technical leadership across the customer journey, from solution development to demonstrations and PoCs.

You will work with sales leaders, customers, and internal stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and unlock the full value of IPD's Motor Control portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Motor Control products and systems.
• Experience in sales, pre-sales, technical solutions, or technical consulting roles.
• Hands-on experience with Motor Control – configuration and diagnostics.
• Experience using CRM systems, developing PoCs, and delivering solution demonstrations.
• Familiarity with industry software, design tools, and technical documentation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated planning, organisational, and time management skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop tailored Motor Control solutions.
• Design, present, and support technical solutions through demonstrations, PoCs, workshops, training sessions, and technical documentation.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise across Motor Control technologies, including configuration, commissioning, and diagnostics of VSDs, Soft Starters, and Motor Control systems.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor supporting customers, consultants, OEMs, contractors, and system integrators throughout the sales cycle.
• Build strong customer relationships through technical consultation, site visits, remote engagement, and industry events.
• Partner with Product Management, Marketing, and technology vendors to provide market feedback and support portfolio growth.
• Maintain technical resources, track pre-sales activities and performance metrics, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Share technical knowledge and support ongoing development of sales and pre-sales teams.
