Carrier is seeking a Modernisation Project Manager in Australia to lead HVAC service and modernisation projects from planning through to completion. You will work with customers, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver safely, on time and within budget, while ensuring quality and contractual obligations.

The role emphasizes strong commercial outcomes, WHS compliance and a superior customer experience aligned with Carrier's objectives. A tertiary engineering qualification is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of project management experience in HVAC/building services.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, installation, and commissioning.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects on time and within budget.
• Experience in budget management, cost control, financial reporting, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of HVAC projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop and manage project schedules, scopes, resources, and delivery plans.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure safety, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor financial performance including budgets, forecasting, cost control and variations.
• Ensure WHS compliance and Carrier safety standards across sites.
• Oversee documentation, commissioning, handover and close-out per Carrier quality standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, engineers and sales for project success.
• Provide status updates, commercial reporting and risk mitigation to stakeholders.

Role Overview

The Modernisation Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of HVAC Service & Modernisation projects, managing the full project lifecycle from planning through to completion. Working closely with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, the role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while meeting contractual obligations. The Project Manager also drives strong commercial outcomes, maintains compliance with WHS and Carrier standards, and delivers an exceptional customer experience that supports Carrier's operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of HVAC projects from initiation through to completion.
• Develop and manage project schedules, scopes, resources, and delivery plans to achieve project objectives.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, variations, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Carrier safety standards, and customer-specific safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Oversee project documentation, commissioning, handover, and project close-out in line with Carrier quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, engineering teams, and sales to ensure effective communication and project success.
• Provide regular project status updates, commercial reporting, and technical support to stakeholders while identifying and mitigating project risks.

Required Competencies & Qualifications

• 3-5 years' project management experience within the HVAC, mechanical services, or building services industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, and commissioning processes.
• Proven ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Experience in budget management, cost control, financial reporting, and commercial decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety, and regulatory compliance across project sites.
• Strong organisational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline, with experience delivering upgrade, modernisation, or infrastructure projects highly regarded.
