Job summary

Northwest Mining is seeking a trades-qualified plant mechanic to join our field service team across Muswellbrook NSW and the Hunter Valley. You will service, diagnose, and repair mobile plant, respond to breakdowns, and maintain records to OEM standards while promoting safety on site.

This role is based in Muswellbrook with a 4-day week, no night shifts, and a fully maintained company vehicle. HR license is advantageous, and mining or civil field service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified plant mechanic
• 2+ years post-trade experience
• Field service experience preferred (mining or civil)
• Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Confident working independently
• HR license advantageous

About the Role

As a key part of our field service crew, you'll work independently across multiple sites in the Hunter Valley and be trusted to:

• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and defect repairs on mobile plant equipment
• Respond to breakdowns with confidence and autonomy
• Monitor and maintain accurate records to OEM standards
• Assist with mine-spec fit-outs on new and existing fleet
• Promote a strong safety first culture onsite

Position is based at Muswellbrook NSW

Who We’re Looking For

• Trade qualified plant mechanic (We welcome LV or HV mechanics who want to level up into plant)
• 2+ years post-trade experience
• Previous field service experience preferred (ideally in mining or civil)
• Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Confident working independently
• Drivers Licence (HR would be highly advantageous)
