Job summary

Connect 'n' Grow is seeking an Expert Health Trainer to deliver engaging, practical training to secondary students across Townsville and surrounding areas. You will share real-world health and community services experience, helping learners gain confidence, skills and qualifications for a future in the sector.

Four days per week are spent delivering training at partner schools and the Connect 'n' Grow Health Hub, with one admin day for marking and planning.

Qualifications

• A current Training and Assessment (TAE) qualification.
• Experience delivering and assessing vocational education and training (VET).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
• A positive, flexible and organised approach, with the confidence to work independently.
• A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and student-focused learning.
• Willingness to travel to partner schools and health hubs across Townsville and surrounding areas (car allowance provided).
• A current driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle.
• A current Employee Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Relevant qualifications and/or industry experience across Health and Community Services.

Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging, inclusive and practical training and assessment at partner schools and the CnG Health Hub.
• Creating a positive, culturally safe and supportive learning environment.
• Assessing student skills and knowledge, providing constructive feedback and supporting student progress.
• Supporting Certificate III students and trainees, including workplace visits and practical competency requirements.
• Completing marking, student records and assessment administration.
• Participating in career expos, school holiday programs and other student engagement activities as required.
• Maintaining current industry knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement of training resources and delivery.
