Job summary

Cummins Asia Pacific in Cairns, Far North Queensland, is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair engines at customer sites. You will apply specialized tools, follow Cummins procedures and complete required documentation.

The role involves field work, on-site servicing, and occasional workshop repairs, with on-call, overtime penalties, and relocation assistance for the right candidate. Local driving license required and remote area travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Cert III) or equivalent.
• Basic workshop or field service experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of engine products.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair engines at the customer's site.
• Engage customers in courteous and professional service.
• Prepare parts and tools and follow documented procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on engines in the field.
• Document service worksheets, timesheets and warranty claims.
• Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and operation.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior technicians when needed.
• Complete in-workshop repairs as required.
