Job summary

Thiess is seeking a Shovel Operator to join our Production Mining Team in Australia. You will operate heavy equipment, adhere to safety procedures, and respond to Mining Supervisor instructions, with duties including excavation to design boundaries and maintaining floor levels.

The role offers permanent full-time employment, excellent camp facilities, and a pathway for development.FIFO from Perth to the Pilbara, with Roster options and salary sacrifice plans.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years mining experience as mining production excavator operator (essential).
• Experience operating Hitachi EX3600 and CAT6060 is essential.
• Experience loading dump trucks in a mining production environment is essential.
• Sound knowledge of ore mark ups and pit configuration.
• Ability to mine benches and cutting batters with design batter angles.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to maximise output.
• Comply with Thiess' policies and procedures.
• Respond to instructions from Mining Supervisor.
• Excavate to design boundaries of ore bodies, berms and pit walls.
• Maintain floor levels and manage dilution to design tolerances.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards.
• Carry out pre-start checks.
