Job summary

Core Crew is seeking an experienced Mine Production Superintendent to support a large-scale open-cut mining operation in the Northern Territory. You will oversee daily production, lead production teams and coordinate resources to deliver targets safely, efficiently and within budgets.

You will drive improvements in productivity and asset utilisation while maintaining a strong safety and performance culture across the production team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in a Mine Production Superintendent or similar senior mining operations role.
• Strong background in open-cut mining operations.
• Proven track record in leading production teams and frontline supervisors.
• Solid understanding of load and haul operations, mobile equipment and mining production processes.
• Experience managing production targets, operational costs and KPIs.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• Proactive approach to safety, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collaborate with planning, maintenance and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mining production and ensure targets and plans are achieved.
• Provide leadership and support to production supervisors and frontline teams.
• Monitor production performance, equipment utilisation and costs.
• Coordinate load and haul activities and mobile equipment resources.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimise efficiency and performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety systems, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Work with planning, maintenance and other departments for coordinated activities.
• Identify risks, resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs and deliver regular production reports to site management.
• Develop and maintain a strong safety and performance culture within the team.

The Opportunity

Core Crew is looking for an experienced Mine Production Superintendent to support a large-scale open-cut mining operation in the Northern Territory. This is an opportunity to bring your operational leadership and production management experience to an established mining operation, overseeing production activities and driving safe, efficient and reliable mining performance.

3-6 months contract on an 8/6 then 4/3 roster.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day mining production, leading operational teams and supervisors, coordinating resources and ensuring production plans and targets are delivered safely, efficiently and within operational budgets.

What the Role Entails

• Oversee daily mining and production activities to ensure operational targets and plans are achieved.
• Provide leadership, direction and support to production supervisors and frontline operational teams.
• Monitor production performance, equipment utilisation, productivity and operational costs.
• Ensure effective coordination of load and haul activities and mobile equipment resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production efficiency and operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with site safety systems, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Work closely with planning, maintenance and other operational departments to ensure effective coordination of activities.
• Identify operational risks, resolve production issues and implement corrective actions where required.
• Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular production reports and updates to site management.
• Develop and maintain a strong safety and performance culture across the production team.

What You Will Need

• Demonstrated experience as a Mine Production Superintendent or in a similar senior mining operations role.
• Strong background in open-cut mining operations.
• Proven experience overseeing production teams and managing frontline supervisors.
• Strong understanding of load and haul operations, mobile equipment and mining production processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage production targets, operational costs and performance KPIs.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• A proactive approach to safety, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with planning, maintenance and other operational departments.
• Relevant mining qualifications and statutory competencies.
