Job summary

Hancock Iron Ore, based in West Perth, seeks a Management Accountant – Operations to join the Finance team and support cost management across mining operations.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting, partnering with site leaders to deliver insights and drive profitability. Travel to Pilbara sites will be required. This role offers health insurance support, strong performance bonuses and career growth.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business.
• Experience in cost reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI for financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational stakeholders to support medium- and long-term planning.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting activities for relevant operational areas.
• Lead the monthly reporting cycle, including accruals, provisions, allocations and variance analysis.
• Deliver clear performance analysis and commentary, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Provide financial guidance for capital proposals and business cases.
• Review data and challenge assumptions to improve forecasts and reporting quality.
• Work with analytics teams on ad-hoc insights and process improvements.
• Travel to Pilbara mine sites to build operational knowledge and relationships.
