Job summary

EPSA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Australian operation at the Callide Mine in Biloela, Queensland. This full-time role offers a 38-hour roster from Monday to Friday with flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities include managing critical mechanical components for preventive and corrective maintenance, overseeing spare parts and assets, and analysing data to support asset life-cycle strategies.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-3 years of engineering experience.
• Mining project experience including materials handling and process plants.
• Understanding of hydraulic calculations and pumping systems.
• Ability to interpret P&ID’s, PFD’s and Process Design Criteria.
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor IOMs.
• High computer literacy (Office, engineering tools).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to complete a Pre-Employment Medical.

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering control and technical availability of critical mechanical components to support preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Oversee the technical management of maintenance support assets and critical spare parts.
• Analyse maintenance requirements and reliability trends to inform spare parts and long-term strategies.
• Define technical specifications and requirements for mechanical components and spare parts.
• Provide technical oversight for selection and acquisition of mechanical components.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement improvement initiatives for reliability and availability.
• Lead root cause investigations of major mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures and specifications.
