Job summary

EPSA Pacific in Mackay is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the workshop team on a full-time basis. You will provide technical support to maintenance teams, focusing on equipment reliability, maintenance improvement and engineering solutions.

Key tasks include supporting repair and refurbishment, reviewing failures, performing root cause analyses and contributing to cost-effective improvements across heavy mining equipment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mining, heavy industry, earthmoving or mobile equipment environments.
• Experience with maintenance, repair or refurbishment of heavy mobile equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance principles.
• Experience with fault finding and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across workshop maintenance and repair activities.
• Support inspection, assessment, repair and modification of heavy earthmoving and mining equipment.
• Develop practical engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability, safety and performance.
• Review equipment failures and maintenance issues and identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Support planning and execution of maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Review engineering drawings and equipment documentation.
• Assist with modifications, repairs and structural improvements.
• Collaborate with trades and maintenance teams to ensure practical solutions.
