Job summary

Rolleston Open Cut is a major Australian coal mine in Central Queensland seeking a Light Vehicle Mechanic to join the Maintenance team. Reporting to the Light Vehicle Workshop Supervisor, you will service and repair light vehicles, tractors and support equipment to support safe, reliable plant performance on site.

Role requires trade qualification and experience with 4WDs and medium rigid trucks; SAP or similar CMMS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Relevant Trade Qualification as a light/medium mechanic is essential.
• Experience with 4WD Light Vehicles (Toyota Landcruiser, Hilux & Prado), Medium Rigid trucks (Isuzu & Hino), and Ag Tractors (John Deere & Massey Ferguson).
• Familiarisation with relevant legislation and experience in open cut mining, coal industry preferred.
• Proven problem-solving skills and continuous improvements of plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled servicing and breakdown maintenance of Light Vehicles, Medium Trucks and Ag Tractors.
• Maintenance and repairs to Ancillary Mining Equipment including Pit Pumps, Generators, Trailers, Trans-tanks and Lighting Plants.
• Maintain safety, availability, reliability and operational performance at site facilities.
• Collaborate with team and share ideas for improvements; ensure safe working practices.
• Ensure health, safety and statutory compliance; maintain data integrity in maintenance systems.
• Utilise trade experience to perform maintenance activities in a team environment with production targets in mind.
• Liaise with key personnel to drive continuous improvement and risk control.
• Identify, assess and control workplace hazards; demonstrate genuine care for safety.
