Job summary

Gold Fields Group Services (Pty) Ltd in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will service and repair a modern fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment on an 8/6 roster, with residential or FIFO from Perth.

The role offers site allowance, private health insurance allowance, and a quarterly bonus, with opportunities to mentor apprentices and contribute to a safe, productive site culture.

Qualifications

• Current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent Heavy Diesel trade qualification.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and planned maintenance, inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr heavy mobile equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults to minimise downtime and support production targets.
• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with OEM specifications and site procedures.
• Complete maintenance documentation including work orders and labour recording in SAP and other systems.
• Order parts and materials required to complete maintenance activities.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with major component replacements.
• Maintain housekeeping and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Assist with training, mentoring and development of apprentices.
