Job summary

Evolution Mining in Australia is seeking an experienced mining engineer to support short-term scheduling and planning for an underground copper-gold operation at Ernest Henry. You will develop weekly mine plans, design drill and blast plans, and coordinate cave management with operations and technical services to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in underground mine engineering.
• Exposure to mine design and planning software, ideally the Deswik Suite.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
• Self-motivated with a desire to develop technical and operational mining expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present weekly mine plans in collaboration with operational and technical stakeholders.
• Design drill and blast plans to support safe production outcomes.
• Coordinate cave management activities to ensure adequate ore stocks meet production needs.
• Conduct regular underground inspections to monitor progress and support planning decisions.
• Contribute to short-term projects and investigations to improve mine performance.
• Collaborate with Mining Operations, Supervisors, Superintendents and Technical Services teams to deliver practical planning solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Technical Services team and play a key role in supporting one of Australia's leading underground copper-gold operations. Working closely with Mining Operations and Technical Services stakeholders, you'll contribute to short-term scheduling, drill and blast activities, cave management and operational improvement projects that directly influence mine performance.

Based at our Ernest Henry Operations and reporting to the Senior Short Term Planning Engineer you’ll:

• Develop and present weekly mine plans in collaboration with operational and technical stakeholders
• Design drill and blast plans to support safe and efficient production outcomes
• Coordinate cave management activities to ensure sufficient broken ore stocks are available to meet production requirements
• Conduct regular underground inspections to monitor progress and support planning decisions
• Contribute to short-term projects and investigations focused on improving mine performance
• Work closely with Mining Operations, Supervisors, Superintendents and Technical Services teams to deliver practical planning solutions.
