Job summary

CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking a driven Cost Controller to join the Heavy Machinery Equipment team at Cape Preston on a permanent basis. The role is based on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth, reporting to the Principal Cost Controller to provide analysis, reporting and financial insights to drive operational performance.

The successful candidate will bridge operations and finance, manage budgets, forecasts, and cost variances for mining and maintenance activities, and support SAP-based cost

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• Strong budgets, risk management, and departmental reporting.
• Advanced computer skills with SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, forecasting, and review of operational and capital expenditure budgets for mining and maintenance activities.
• Perform monthly cost-versus-budget analysis, including equipment performance, to identify key variance drivers.
• Drive efficiencies by improving systems, processes, and the accuracy/relevance of forecasting and planning models.
• Improve management’s understanding of financial information using SAP and provide ad hoc analytical and reporting support to Principal Cost Controllers.
• Raise and manage purchase requisitions, monitoring SAP workflows through to PO creation, and update variations based on operational scope changes.
• Review supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance, liaising with vendors and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and overdue invoices.
• Maintain accurate records for all cost control activities, contracts, and requisitions.
