Job summary

Syncom Auditing in Victoria is seeking a Minimum Standards & Smoke Alarm Technician to cover Traralgon, Morwell, Moe, Warragul and surrounds. You will perform safety checks and inspections to ensure rental properties meet minimum standards.

Full training is provided, and the role offers casual through to full-time positions with local travel. Competitive hourly pay and options for car allowance or vehicle supplied, plus a focus on local work.

Qualifications

• Based in Latrobe Valley with full training provided.
• Willing to undergo National Police Checks and Working with Children Checks.
• Friendly, professional and able to liaise with renters.
• Current driver's licence and ability to travel locally.
• Experience not required, as full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out smoke alarm safety checks and rental minimum standards inspections.
• Complete accurate reports on site using our field app.
• Support the team as a Trade Assistant or Door Knocker, including helping with property access and liaising with renters.

Minimum Standards & Smoke Alarm Technician

Syncom is a growing property safety compliance business working with real estate agencies, property managers and landlords across Victoria and NSW. We're expanding in the Latrobe Valley and need a local technician to cover Traralgon, Morwell, Moe, Warragul and surrounds.

About rental minimum standards

Since March 2021, every rental property in Victoria must meet a set of minimum standards covering basic safety, security and comfort.

These include working locks on external doors, a functioning heater in the main living area, a safe electrical setup with switchboard safety switches, proper ventilation, window coverings in bedrooms and living areas, a working kitchen, bathroom and toilet, and a home that is free from mould, damp and structural hazards.

Our technicians inspect properties against these requirements so landlords and property managers can be confident their rentals are compliant, and renters can feel safe in their homes.

The role

Carry out smoke alarm safety checks and rental minimum standards inspections

Complete accurate reports on site using our field app

Support the team as a Trade Assistant or Door Knocker when needed, including helping with property access and liaising with renters

About you

Based in or near the Latrobe Valley

Experience not required, as full training provided

Previous experience in smoke alarm servicing, property inspections or a related trade would be great

Friendly, professional and comfortable dealing with renter

Current driver's licence and happy to travel locally

Willing to undergo a National Police & Working with Childrens Checks

What we offer

Casual through to full-time positions available

$32–$38 per hour, depending on experience
