Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia is seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join the Geology team at Sunrise Dam for a 12-month fixed-term assignment on an 8/6 roster. The role covers grade control, data validation, and liaising with contractors to support short-term planning targets.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will contribute to grade control programs, QAQC data validation, and mine reconciliations, with opportunities for performance-based progression.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology.
• Prior experience in open pit and/or underground mine geology.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• A high degree of organisational and administrative skills.
• Strong grasp of mining geology, including gold sampling and assaying, geological interpretation, grade modelling, and open cut mining methods.
• Proficiency in Vulcan, Datashed, and MP3 estimation software, or equivalent.
• Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (mandatory).
• A current National Police Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Adhering to safety procedures and reporting incidents.
• Designing grade control drilling programs for short- and medium-term planning.
• Scheduling and coordinating grade control drilling activities with a focus on safety and QAQC.
• Geological mapping and interpretation.
• Validation and analysis of QAQC data related to drilling, sampling and assaying.
• Interrogation of grade control models for mine reconciliations.
• Assist in short- and medium-term mining schedules and coordination of material movement.
