Job summary

JBS Riverina Feedlot in New South Wales is seeking a hands-on operator to manage grain milling, commodity intake, batching and delivery, plus loader operations to support our feedlot operations near Yanco. You will work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment focused on safety and efficiency.

The role requires multitasking across equipment and tasks, with a focus on maintaining equipment and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience handling grains and feed commodities.
• Ability to operate independently and in a team.
• Ability to multitask and keep equipment serviced.
• Boiler Operator ticket and mechanical aptitude are advantageous.

Job description

JBS Australia is the largest and most respected meat and food producer in Australia. We have a strong portfolio of leading and renowned beef, lamb, pork, salmon and value-added branded products, such as AMH, Swift, Primo, Murray Valley and Huon.

Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Feedlot is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot, and processing facility. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress, carbon emissions and transportation costs while simultaneously improving eating quality.

Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in southern NSW. Being in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The Feedlot has a capacity of 53,333 head, employs approximately 60 team members, and has a strong reputation for producing award winning grain-fed beef for key domestic and international customers.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Grain milling and commodity intake functions
• Feed commodity ration batching and feed delivery
• Front end loader operations, machinery operation and feed truck driving as required
• Maintaining compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to: WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations

About You

• Commodity handling and processing experience
• A demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a team environment
• Ability to multitask and ensure that equipment is maintained as required
• Boiler Operator ticket and mechanical aptitude would be an advantage
• A high level of initiative, attention to details and the ability to meet deadlines
• Basic computer literacy skills
