Job summary

Mater Health Services in Brisbane is seeking a Registered Midwife to backfill the Midwifery Unit Manager role within the Midwifery Group Practice for a 12‑month fixed term commencing January 2027 at South Brisbane. You will lead the program, ensure safe, high‑quality care and manage budgets and change initiatives.

The role demands clinical leadership, cost management and a focus on patient experience across pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife.
• Advanced clinical knowledge in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead clinical teams.
• Experience managing a clinical cost centre and budgets.
• Experience in a Midwifery Group Practice (preferred).
• Working towards relevant qualifications in leadership, budget management or finance.
