Job summary

Protech is seeking experienced Civil Operators to join Middlemount Coal in Queensland. You’ll transition into production mining and gain Mining Haul Truck skills on a site with a 20-year life.

You’ll operate excavators, graders, dozers and loaders, reporting to the Production Superintendent and ensuring safe, efficient work. We offer a 7/7 roster with 12.5-hour shifts, DIDO/BIBO transport options, full camp facilities, weekly pay and generous incentives up to $1,300 monthly.

Qualifications

• 4 years’ experience in civil or mining roles.
• Experience operating heavy mobile plant equipment (excavator, grader, dozer, loader).
• RII certification for relevant machinery and standard safety licenses.

Protech is seeking experienced Civil Operators to join our client, Middlemount Coal. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to transition from civil into mining and build a rewarding long-term career in mining production.

Middlemount Coal is an open cut mine located approximately 90 kilometres north-east of Emerald and some 7 kilometres west of the township of Middlemount in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Middlemount Coal is a joint venture betweenPeabody EnergyandYancoal. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term work on a site with an impressive 20-year mine life.

Reporting to theProduction Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile plant equipment. You’ll work collaboratively with your crew and the wider site team to deliver high-quality results safely.

What You’ll Bring

• 4 years’ experience
• Excavator experience (30t minimum)
• Grader experience (12M/120 & larger, preferably later models)
• Dozer experience (D9 or equivalent minimum)
• Loader experience (mid-size and above)
• RII’s for relevant machinery
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
• HA – Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
