Job summary

Pitch Black is seeking mid- to senior-level Compositors to join our VFX team for feature films, with starting dates as early as September 2026. Roles are based in Adelaide or Brisbane.

You will create seamless live-action composites, build production-ready Nuke scripts, and collaborate across departments to meet briefs on schedule. The ideal candidate has high-end live-action compositing experience, strong Nuke expertise, a keen eye for color and lighting, and solid understanding of VFX

• Strong Nuke expertise and understanding of compositing fundamentals.
• Good eye for colour, light, realism, and detail.
• Solid understanding of VFX pipelines and workflows.

• Create seamless composites combining live action, FX, environments, and matte painting.
• Build efficient, production-ready Nuke scripts within the pipeline.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver shots on brief and on schedule.
• Maintain high visual quality, continuity, and attention to detail.
• Adapt quickly to feedback and evolving briefs.

Job Description

We currently have several Compositor positions open with our crew at Mid and Senior levels! Working within our Compositing team, you’ll create high-quality, multi-layered composites for live-action feature films. We have a variety of contract lengths available, with starting dates as early as September 2026. These roles are to be based in either our Adelaide or Brisbane studios.
