Job summary

Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - MICE to grow corporate and group revenue in the Hunter Valley. You will identify new opportunities, manage key client relationships, and drive events and conference bookings across our resort facilities.

Ideal candidates possess hospitality sales expertise, a proven track record in MICE, and strong negotiation skills with a focus on long‑term partnerships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hospitality sales, with a strong background in corporate and MICE markets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Strong understanding of the hotel, conference, and events industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales strategies to increase corporate and MICE revenue for Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, industry events, and targeted sales activity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and key industry partners.
• Manage and grow existing accounts to maximise repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Conduct client meetings, site inspections, and familiarisation visits to showcase the resort’s accommodation, conference facilities, golf, and leisure offerings.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure group bookings and events.
• Collaborate with operational teams including Events, Front Office, Reservations, and Revenue to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Maintain strong market knowledge, monitor competitor activity, and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales reporting, forecasts, and pipeline activity.
