Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is hiring a field-based Meter Reader to access residential, commercial and industrial sites, update readings and report field conditions. You'll travel across our contracts, working outdoors in all weather, and rely on a company vehicle for daily travel.

No prior meter reading experience is required as paid training is provided. The role offers a supportive team, clear safety processes, and the chance to build a stable career with one of Australia’s leading

• Good customer service skills and friendly communication
• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and comfortably walk long distances, with this role averaging approximately 15km of walking per day
• Strong time-management skills and reliability
• The motivation to work safely, follow schedules and get the job done right the first time

You’ll be accessing residential, commercial and industrial sites, updating readings, reporting field conditions, and occasionally supporting tasks like surveys or inspections.
