Job summary

Iluka Resources is seeking a Metallurgical Technician for the Jacinth-Ambrosia Mine on South Australia’s Far West Coast. This permanent FIFO role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster with 7 nights on, 7 nights off, with travel from Adelaide or Ceduna. The role focuses on sampling, lab compliance, WCP monitoring and process improvements.

You will also provide coaching to Metallurgical Assistants and WCP operators, with safe-work instruction reviews and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths discipline.
• Experience in a mineral processing plant, laboratory or related industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process samples from the Wet Concentrator Plant and present results in required reporting formats.
• Ensure laboratory compliance with required standards, maintenance of laboratory equipment and stock management.
• Monitor performance of the WCP including heavy mineral concentrate grade and recovery, water quality and throughput.
• Provide advice to the Operations team for adjustment of WCP settings.
• Review and develop safe work instructions and procedures for routine metallurgical tasks.
• Complete investigatory work into WCP performance and provide recommendations for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Provide technical coaching and guidance for Metallurgical Assistants and WCP operators.
