Job summary

TAFE NSW Ultimo Campus is seeking an experienced Teacher of Metal Fabrication and Welding to inspire and mentor the next generation of trade professionals. This permanent full-time role delivers hands-on, industry-relevant training and supports students to gain the skills, qualifications and employability needed for successful careers.

You will hold the required certification, bring strong post-qualification industry experience, and contribute to Vocational Education and Training standards.

Qualifications

• Hold appropriate subject knowledge and at minimum hold a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication.
• Have a minimum of five years post‑qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
• Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET).
• Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on, practical training for Metal Fabrication and Welding students.
• Guide and enhance student learning and ensure industry relevance.
• Develop and assess VET learning activities and outcomes.
