Job summary

Petbarn is seeking a motivated Merchandise Assistant or Buyer's Assistant to join our Dog and Cat Food Category. This hands-on, highly administrative role reports to the Assistant Category Manager and is ideal for someone eager to grow within specialty retail buying.

You will work closely with the Category Manager and stakeholders to support product data, range, reporting and supplier activity, with hybrid working 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in product administration support, Merchandise Assistant or Buyer's Assistant role
• Experience in a fast-paced retail support office environment is highly regarded
• Genuine passion for specialty retail, products and pets
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and analytical capability
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• Experience preparing reports, analysing data and creating graphs
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with suppliers, stores and support office teams
• Ability to multitask, manage priorities and work with multiple stakeholders
• Positive, collaborative attitude with a desire to progress into a future buying role

Reporting to the Assistant Category Manager this role will suit a driven and motivated merchandise assistant or buyers assistant looking to be part of a growing brand.

About the role
