Job summary

National Joblink (NJL) is hiring a dedicated Mentor for the Transition to Work program based in Rockhampton. You will inspire, listen with empathy and guide young people aged 15-24 toward education or employment, including apprenticeships and training.

This full-time fixed-term contract runs until 31 October 2028. You will help youth build confidence, life skills and make positive decisions, while collaborating with local community services and stakeholders to support successful outcomes.

  • Knowledge of the local cohort.

  • Excellent time management balancing administration with participant engagement.

Job description

Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential, building confidence and develop new skills to enhance their journey into the workforce.

Our Transition to Work (TtW) program is designed to help young people aged 15-24 into work (including apprenticeships and training) or education.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate MENTOR, who inspires others to GROW in new directions, FOCUS on the positive, LISTENS with empathy, SUPPORT and GUIDE young people in achieving their personal educational career goals.

You will work directly with youth to build confidence, develop life skills and encourage positive decision making.

Transition to Work helps young people aged 15-24 into work (including apprenticeships and training) or education. Transition to Work participants receive intensive, pre-employment support to develop practical skills to get a job, connect with education or training, find local job opportunities and connect with relevant local community services.

This role is Full time – Fixed term Contract until 31 October 2028, located at Rockhampton.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Work well in a small team to build creative solutions and achieve combined KPI's.
  • Sound digital literacy skills utilising different software platforms for reporting as well as Microsoft 365 (Word/Excel & Outlook)
