Job summary

NSW Health is seeking Mental Health Assistants in Nursing (AIN) for multiple sites in the Northern Sydney region, including Macquarie Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and Northern Beaches Hospital. Roles are available as permanent or temporary, part-time or full-time, with up to 38 hours per week.

Responsibilities include supporting nursing care in mental health units under RN supervision, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote

Qualifications

• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience working within mental health settings.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in the scope of AIN.

Responsibilities

• The Mental Health AIN supports nursing care to mental health consumers in acute care settings under RN direction.
• Collects, documents and communicates health information to the RN.
• Performs identified care activities as outlined in the AIN Care Activities Map.
