Job summary

A leading gold mining company seeks a Medium Term Planning Engineer to bridge Technical Services and Mine Operations. Qualifications

About the Role

The Mining Engineer is the key liaison between the Technical Services and Mine Operations teams. You will be tasked with achieving and maintaining good relationships with both teams, identifying where plans and actions are diverging and addressing the gaps to maintain adherence to plan. Key result areas in this role include:

• Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within your own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.
• Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements in respect to mining activities are met.
• Designing pit oppi shells based on the resource geology model
• Designing open pits for mining proposals from the oppi shells
• Develop and provide safe and efficient drill and blast plans.
• Daily monitoring, recording and optimisation of production progress.
• Manage contractors on site and assist Supervisors with day to day running of the mine.
• Conduct mine process and business improvement studies as required.
• Actively participate and support team activities, meetings and initiatives.
• Ensure that Evolution’s policies, practices and values are complied with.
• Assist the Senior Engineer in establishing and implementing safe working practices and procedures.

You will be FIFO from Perth or a resident in the local Kalgoorlie area, available to work 8:6 or 4:3 (12‑hour day) roster. Relocation support within Australia to Kalgoorlie can be provided.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high standard of work. Key attributes you will also possess include:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar.
• Open pit production engineering and medium‑term planning experience (in gold mining is preferable, but not essential).
• Experience in Vulcan, Alastri (APS/ATS), Deswik CAD and Integrated Scheduling is preferable but not essential.
• A good understanding of relevant Australian legislation, mining regulations and operating conditions, especially WA Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
• A strong focus on safety and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
