Payless freight solutions pty ltd – Botany NSW is hiring a Medium Rigid Driver on a casual basis to support our road transport operation in Botany. You will deliver goods across our service area, comply with regulations, and maintain high safety standards.

The role requires an HR or MR license with a clean record, a National Police Clearance, and proven MR experience. We offer competitive casual rates and flexible scheduling for reliable drivers.

Qualifications

• Valid HR or MR driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience driving medium rigid vehicles in a commercial freight environment.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations, load securing, and fatigue management laws.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet delivery schedules.

• Physical fitness to assist with loading/unloading.
• Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Operate medium rigid vehicles in compliance with road transport regulations and company policies.
• Plan and execute efficient delivery routes while adhering to schedules and deadlines.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Load and unload freight safely with cargo secured and protected during transport.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records and documentation as required by regulations.
• Adhere to traffic laws, weight restrictions and fatigue management regulations.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure the truck is in good working order.

We are seeking a Medium Rigid Driver to join Payless Freight Solutions Pty Ltd on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic road transport operation based in Botany, NSW. As a Medium Rigid Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods throughout our service area. This position offers flexibility and the chance to be part of a growing logistics business that values reliability and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Operate medium rigid vehicles in compliance with all relevant road transport regulations and company policies
• Plan and execute efficient delivery routes whilst maintaining strict adherence to scheduling and deadlines
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or defects promptly
• Load and unload freight safely, ensuring cargo is properly secured and protected during transport
• Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery records and documentation as required by transport regulations
• Adhere to all traffic laws, weight restrictions and fatigue management regulations
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure the truck is kept in good working order throughout shifts

What we're looking for

• Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence with a clean driving record
• Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
• Proven experience driving medium rigid vehicles in a commercial freight environment
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, load securing requirements and fatigue management laws
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet delivery schedules consistently
• Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Physical fitness and ability to assist with loading and unloading freight
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach to work
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and basic vehicle maintenance knowledge preferred
