This is an opportunity to deepen your expertise in one of the fastest‑growing areas of pathology, while working in a collaborative environment that values scientific excellence, integrity and continuous learning.

About Us

Genomic Diagnostics is the national genomics service for the Healius Pathology network. We provide comprehensive genetic and genomic testing across oncology, reproductive health, inherited disease, pharmacogenomics and haematology to a broad network of public and private hospitals and community referrers across Australia.

As genomic medicine continues to rapidly evolve, we are expanding our capabilities and investing in new technologies to support clinicians with timely, high‑quality and clinically meaningful genomic information. Our work plays a vital role in accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment and delivering answers for patients and families across the country.

As part of the wider Healius network, we are connected to more than 80 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient collection centres across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. We provide one in every three pathology services nationally, ranging from large, complex hospitals to small Indigenous communities. This scale enables us to grow, innovate and create strong career development pathways for our people, while leading the advancement of genomic diagnostics across Australia.

  • Maintaining current scientific knowledge relevant to the discipline
  • Participating in routine and audit‑related Quality Assurance activities
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and the development or validation of new assays
  • Training, mentoring and supporting other laboratory employees
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals
  • Ensuring strict compliance with laboratory protocols, WHS procedures and Quality Assurance processes
About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong scientific expertise, a commitment to quality and a passion for delivering accurate and meaningful diagnostic results to clinicians and patients.

You will ideally bring:

  • A Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant diagnostic discipline
  • Solid understanding of QC, QAP and troubleshooting processes
  • Experience working within NATA/ISO accredited environments
