Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking an Acting Medical Imaging Manager for Leongatha and affiliated campuses. This full‑time fixed term (6 months) role operates Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with possible after‑hours call duties.

Based at Leongatha Hospital, you’ll oversee radiology services across two sites to deliver high‑quality imaging care. The role requires a radiography degree with current registration, extensive imaging experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Imaging Science (Radiography) with registration.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in medical imaging.
• Current Victorian Radiation Use License.
• Willingness to participate in the medical imaging on-call roster.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise and make decisions.
• Positive attitude and adaptability to change.

The Team & Role

The position of a Medical Imaging (Radiology) Manager is a rewarding and challenging career opportunity at Bayside Health – Gippsland Southern. The position is a full-time and fixed term (6 months), working Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. Suitable applicants may be required to participate in the after-hours call roster. You will be based primarily at Leongatha Hospital but you will be required to work across both campuses. You will be accountable to the Regional Care Group Chief / Deputy Chief Medical Officer.

The key objective of this position is the management of the Medical Imaging Service across both Leongatha Memorial and Korumburra Hospitals. To ensure the provision of a high quality, efficient and patient focussed Imaging service, in cooperation with clients and client representatives and in accordance with current practices and regulatory requirements.

This objective is achieved by adhering to the following core principles:

• Maintaining professional care for patients and clients.
• Respecting client rights in cooperation with the client, their representatives and other health professionals.
• Providing effective cooperation between Allied Health Practitioners, Nursing and Medical Staff.
• Ensuring care is provided in accordance with Bayside Health policies and procedures.
• Ensuring practice is conducted in a way that supports the Occupational Health and Safety principles of Bayside Health.

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Medical Imaging Science (Radiography) and current AHPRA Registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner or Degree in Medical Sonography or equivalent qualifications and current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Register
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the medical imaging
• Hold a current Victorian Radiation Use License, as required by relevant registration.
• Willingness to participate in the medical imaging on-call roster as appropriate.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, colleagues and all stakeholders

• Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to collect statistical data on time.
