Job summary

QinetiQ Group is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer in Sydney to deliver embedded software, control systems and mechatronic solutions for Defence and DSTG programs. You will lead requirements, design reviews and verification activities with a cross-disciplinary team.

The role requires a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics/Robotics/Software/Electronics/Electrical, HIL experience, and strong Python/C/C++ on Linux/ROS. Australian NV1 clearance is required for applicants.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering in a related field.
CPEng status or ability to obtain.
Experience with mechatronic/robotics systems.
CAD modelling, engineering drawings and data management.
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing experience.
Python and C/C++ in Linux/ROS environments.
Electronic circuit design and analysis experience.
Engineering test, trial and validation activities.
Strong communication and diplomacy skills.

Responsibilities

Lead requirements definition and management, design documentation and reviews.
Apply design targets and standards to meet validation and compliance.
Design, develop and integrate software/mechatronic systems to meet project requirements.
Develop embedded software, control systems and electrical/mechanical drawings.
Perform system/software integration, testing, troubleshooting and verification.
Identify, evaluate and mitigate risks to ensure safety and compliance.
Contribute to process improvements within the domain.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
