Job summary

NovaSource Power Services is seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to support O&M for solar plants and battery energy storage projects. You will maintain trackers, PV structures, and related equipment, perform inspections, and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar roles and trades activities.
• High risk work licence.
• Valid Driving Licence – 2 to 4 tons vehicles (C class).
• Experience with mechanical systems used in solar farms (trackers, PV panels structures, module cleaning) or demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Certificate II or III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining).
• Strong commitment towards safety and quality.
• Computer literate for reporting and/or digital input of maintenance activities (work orders, equipment).
• Willing to travel to other projects, if required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, align, troubleshoot, and repair plant mechanical systems (tracker structures and related equipment).
• Perform regular inspections and checks to monitor performance of mechanical assets.
• Prepare, track, close, and record maintenance work orders.
• Liaise with manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers on technical aspects.
• Assist site manager and electricians on regular maintenance tasks.
• Carry out vegetation control activities to support O&M tasks within the plant.
• Carry out PV panel cleaning to keep panels operating as expected.
• Operate vehicles (tractors, RTVs, zero-turn mowers) and use tools like brushcutters, pressure washers, sprayers within plant boundaries.
• Undertake other ad-hoc duties as required.

Job description

NovaSource Power Services (‘NSPS’) is a specialist in providing Operations & Maintenance Services to Solar Plants & Battery Energy Storage Projects, around the world.

We presently manage over 26GW of Utility Solar Projects globally; and are established in Australia to drive a higher standard of O&M to market.

About the Role:

• Maintain, calibrate, align, troubleshoot, and repair plant mechanical systems. (Trackers structures that rotates from East to West during the day, as well as conducting mechanical checks and maintenance on equipment and machinery such as tractors, slashers, RTVs, etc.)
• Perform regular inspections and checks to monitor performance of mechanical assets.
• Preparation, tracking, closing, and recording of maintenance work orders.
• Liaise with manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers on technical aspects of the job.
• Assist site manager and electricians on regular maintenance works as required.
• Carry out vegetation control activities (ground maintenance, vegetation management, mechanical mowing and pruning, sprying, etc.), in support of the operation and maintenance tasks within the plant.
• Carry out panel cleaning activities to keep PV panels operating within expected conditions.
• Maintenance activities will involve the driving of vehicles such as tractors, RTVs, zero-turn mowers, as well as the use of other tools and accessories such as brushcutters, pressure washers, sprying equipment. These activities will be carried out within the plant boundaries (private property).
• Other adhoc duties as required.
