Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer for a 2/1 FIFO role on a major mechanical piping package in Queensland. The role focuses on hands-on site delivery, supporting construction progress and coordinating trades on a large renewable energy project.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of site-based mechanical engineering experience, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to thrive in a FIFO environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of site-based mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with piping packages or heavy industry construction is preferred.
• Practical, hands-on approach to field delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day site engineering support across a major mechanical piping package.
• Assist with planning, coordinating and monitoring mechanical construction activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site resources to support construction progress.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, ITPs, inspections and quality documentation.
• Track progress against construction schedules and identify potential issues early.
• Assist with resolving technical and constructability issues in the field.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and as-built documentation.
• Work closely with supervisors, construction personnel and the wider project team to drive safe, quality outcomes.
• Get involved in the practical, hands-on tasks that keep construction moving.
