Job summary

EnerMech is seeking a QA/QC Officer (Mechanical) for upcoming shutdown, turnaround and maintenance projects in the Gladstone region. Reporting to the Project Quality Manager, you will ensure mechanical works meet project specs and client requirements, using ITPs and quality systems.

You will inspect fixed plant, piping, and rotating equipment, coordinate testing, manage NCRs and close-out docs, and liaise with site teams to maintain safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Mechanical Trade Qualification and Australian working rights.
• Experience in mining, maintenance shutdowns, construction or heavy industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes and inspection methods.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections of mechanical maintenance and shutdown activities.
• Review work packs, ITPs, quality documentation and inspection records.
• Verify compliance with project specs, drawings, procedures, and Australian Standards.
• Perform mechanical inspections on fixed plant, piping, structural components and rotating equipment.
• Coordinate and witness testing activities where required.
• Manage quality records, punch lists, NCRs and close-out documents.
• Liaise with site supervisors, trades personnel, clients and contractors.
• Support project teams to achieve quality objectives while maintaining schedules.
• Promote continuous improvement and quality excellence.
