Job summary

TFG Group in Melbourne's Broadmeadows is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support project and fabrication works from enquiry through to completion, reviewing drawings, sourcing materials, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. You will assist Estimators and Operations, undertake MTOs, prepare RFQs, and manage documentation including MDRs, with a focus on safety and quality.

A degree in engineering and 3+ years' experience are required, with proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience.
• AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience.
• Valid Class C driver's licence and site travel flexibility.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes, standards and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
• Good multitasking and calm under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Clear communication and client/colleague relationship skills.
• Self-motivated, results-focused team player with safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support Estimators and Operations from enquiry through to project completion.
• Conduct site walk-throughs with the project team.
• Create MTOs and raise RFQs for materials and hire equipment.
• Review drawings and prepare general arrangement and fabrication drawings.
• Maintain document control and compile MDRs.
• Complete job reviews to confirm drawings and quality are followed.
• Prepare purchase orders and liaise with suppliers on lead times vs cost.
• Assist with handovers to Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
• Support supplier evaluation and relationships.
• Participate in project meetings and use job management software.
