Job summary

A leading gold mining operation in Melbourne is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor responsible for overseeing mechanical maintenance to meet production targets. You will lead a maintenance team, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Candidates should have relevant Australia trade qualifications and prior experience in mineral processing. This is a FIFO position with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

Job description
Overview

Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields, and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. This newly constructed mine site boasts a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years. Making it one of Australia’s largest and lowest cost gold mining operations.

Role Details

Reporting to the Supervisor – Mechanical (Fixed), you will be responsible for the effective execution and supervision of mechanical maintenance related issues on site to enable achievement of budgeted production targets, meeting all quality standards including cost, safety, and environment.

This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

About the role
  • Comply with OHS & environmental standards & requirements;
  • Evaluate associated risks & hazard of each task prior to the commencement to ensure a safe working environment;
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance team inclusive of contractors ensuring awareness of the tasks, targets, and access to the necessary tools;
  • Ensure the team are applying effective preventative maintenance practices through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repair of equipment;
  • Assist with training, development and coaching of the team to improve individual capability and enhance employee engagement, productivity and job satisfaction;
  • Improve performance and growth by actively contributing to business & cultural improvement initiatives, encouraging team members to participate & identify barriers;
  • Ensure minimal disruption to production through the ready access to critical parts and equipment
  • Assist with determining proactive maintenance plans and shutdown programs, in disciplined areas of responsibility;
  • Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns and potential plant or equipment stoppages to a direct Supervisor or area Supervisor as soon as is practicable including those not directly related to your specific areas of responsibility.

  • Prior experience in operation and maintenance of a mineral processing plant
  • Manual WA C Drivers Licence
  • Proficient in the use of SAP work management system or equivalent
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs
