Job summary

BHP is seeking experienced Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitters to join the Surface Operations team at Olympic Dam on a residential basis in Roxby Downs, SA. You will be considered for roles across refinery, concentrator, smelter and related fixed plant areas.

Live locally in Roxby Downs and work a 7/7 day/night roster, returning home nightly. Applicants should hold a recognised mechanical trade and a C Class licence, with a focus on safe work practices and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification.
• C Class Driver Licence is required.
• Commitment to safe systems of work and safety leadership.
• Experience in fixed plant maintenance is highly regarded.
• Experience with 1SAP or similar systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, environment and sustainable development.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe working environment.
• Undertake preventative maintenance inspections and follow up actions.
• Repair and service fixed plant equipment and respond to breakdowns.
• Collaborate to fault find equipment and restore plant availability.
• Maintain 1SAP work management processes including notifications and work orders.
• Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

We are currently taking applications of interest for experienced Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitters seeking to live Residentially. You will join our Surface Operations team here at Olympic Dam.

Joining the Surface Operations team, you will be considered for positions as Mechanical Fitter within in areas like our Refinery, Concentrator, Smelter, Hydromet and Solvent Extraction area, and Auxiliary.

Living locally in the town of Roxby Downs SA, you will work a week on week off, 7/7 day/night rotational roster, returning home every night to live life your way.

What You'll Bring To The Role

Australian recognised Mechanical Trade qualification with fixed plant maintenance experience

• Current C Class Driver Licence
• Commitment to safe systems of work and safety leadership
• Previous plant maintenance experience highly regarded
• Experience using 1SAP or similar systems advantageous
• Ability to work across planned and breakdown maintenance activities
• Proactive, team-focused and self-motivated approach
