Job summary

BHP is seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters for the Peak Downs Mine CHPP team in Queensland. The role focuses on reliability, performance and safety of processing plant equipment with duties including inspections, servicing and repairs.

The successful candidate will have a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade and demonstrate a strong safety mindset, data accuracy and teamwork to meet production schedules. Location is on-site with a 3D3N–6OFF roster.

• Proven skills in maintaining, repairing and aligning mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards.
• Ability to identify defects, diagnose issues and apply practical problem-solving solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, servicing, troubleshooting and repairs of plant processing equipment to maintain reliable operation.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on all aspects of a processing plant and site infrastructure including major component change outs.
• Communicate clearly with team members and Supervisors regarding equipment issues, downtime and work progress.
• Follow established maintenance strategies, procedures and safety requirements to ensure safe, compliant execution of work.
• Complete all maintenance documentation and system data entries accurately and on time.

About the Role

Peak Downs Mine is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.

We are currently seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters to join the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) team. As part of the crew, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our processing plant and when required maintaining of PDM assets across the mine and infrastructure.

This opportunity offers 3D3N - 6OFF roster.

Key Duties:

• Conduct inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs of plant processing equipment to maintain reliable operation.
