Job summary

BHP is seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters to join the Coal Handling Preparation Plant team at Peak Downs Mine in Queensland. You will help ensure reliability, performance, and safety of the processing plant and PDM assets, with roster 3D3N - 6OFF.

The role requires a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, strong safety mindset, teamwork, and ability to identify defects, diagnose issues, and enter data accurately in maintenance systems.

Qualifications

Experience with mechanical plant maintenance and repairs.
Ability to read maintenance procedures and safety requirements.
Proven data entry and use of maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

Inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair plant processing equipment to maintain reliability.
Perform mechanical maintenance on plant and site infrastructure including major component change outs.
Communicate issues, downtime, and progress with team and supervisors.
Follow maintenance strategies and safety requirements for safe execution.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
