Job summary

Kilcoy Global Foods currently has permanent opportunities for Mechanical Fitters to join our team in a fast-paced beef production environment.

Work environments include agricultural, production, refrigeration, biomass boiler and rendering. Night and day shifts operate on a rotating 5 days on, 4 days off then 4 on 5 off pattern.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
• Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role.
• Beef slaughter process equipment experience regarded.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance with a preventative focus.
• Contribute ideas to improve systems, procedures, and maintenance.
• Engage with production to optimise equipment performance daily.
• Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, health and environment.
• Prioritise urgent repairs and understand troubleshooting requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors and other departments for reliable maintenance.

Kilcoy Global Foods currently has permanent opportunities for Mechanical Fitters to join our team in a fast-paced, 24/7 beef production environment. Work environments will vary from agricultural, production, refrigeration, biomass boiler and rendering.

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, with a strong focus on a preventative approach.
• Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems, procedures and maintenance.
• Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
• Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, health and environment.
• Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
• Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
• Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.

REMUNERATION

• Night Shift $56.08 per hour.
• Day shift $48.28 per hour.

ROSTER

• Night Shift | 16:00 - 04:00hrs.
• Day Shift | 4.00 - 16:00hrs.
• 5 days on, 4 days off then 4 days on, 5 days off.

ABOUT YOU

• Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
• Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostics for fault finding.
• Reliable, motivated self-starter.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills and communication skills.
• FMCG or manufacturing environment (highly regarded).
• Beef slaughter process equipment(highly regarded).
• Associated downstream offal and rendering plant and equipment(highly regarded).
• Downstream processing (boning, chilling, packaging, labelling and transfer systems)(highly regarded).
• Unlimited working rights within Australia.
• Ability to work alongside a diverse workforce.
• Drivers licence and reliable vehicle, or reliable means of getting to work.
• Vaccinated (or willing to be) against Q Fever.
