Job summary

Kilcoy Global Foods is seeking a Qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our fast-paced beef production team in Australia. The role covers preventative and breakdown maintenance across agricultural and production environments, with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will engage with production to optimise equipment, contribute to improvements, and support capital and continuous improvement projects, while meeting tight deadlines and prioritising urgent repairs.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering (min).
• Experience as Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostics for fault finding.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Good time management and communication skills.
• Valid Australian Driver's licence and reliable transport.

THE OPPORTUNITY

FULL TIME

Kilcoy Global Foods currently has permanent opportunities for Qualified Maintenance Fitters to join our team in a fast-paced, beef production environment. Work environments will vary from agricultural, production, refrigeration.

YOUR RESPONSIBILTIES

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, with a strong focus on a preventative approach.
• Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems, procedures and maintenance.
• Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
• Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
• Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
• Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
• Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.
• Ensure compliance with relevant rules, regulations and legislative requirements in the workplace, including quality controls.

ROSTER

• Night Shift | 15:30 - 12:30 am
• Day Shift | 5.00 - 17:00
• Lifestyle roster, work 60 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours over the 4-week period.

RENUMERATION

• Day shift $60.00 per hour. Plus, shift allowance and overtime.

ABOUT YOU

• Trade qualifications – Certificate III in Engineering as a minimum.
• Experience in Maintenance Fitter or Fitter-Mechanic role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and great diagnostics for fault finding.
• Reliable, motivated self-starter.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills and communication skills.
• Unlimited working rights within Australia.
• Driver's licence and reliable vehicle or reliable means of getting to work.
