Job summary

Metric Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd – Beenleigh QLD is seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Field Service Technician to deliver workshop and on-site service for conveyors and equipment in the food & beverage and general industries. You will fit, install, service and maintain equipment, diagnose faults, and travel for site work as required.

The role requires an engineering tradesperson qualification and 3+ years in materials handling.

Qualifications

• Engineering tradesperson/ mechanical qualification required.
• 3+ years experience in materials handling or similar.
• Experience with complex mechanical systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Workshop fitting and manufacturing.

We are an establishedfabrication and manufacturing business that design, manufacture, install and maintain custom built conveyors and equipment for the food &beverage and some general industry.

We are offering above award remuneration for a full-time Mechanical Fitter / Field Service Technician who can provide exceptional workshop and on-site service and support to our customers.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Engineering tradesperson/ mechanical (Fitter/ Turner) qualification
• 3+ years experience working in the materials handling industry or similar environment
• Experience with complex mechanical systems an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Workshop fitting and manufacturing
• Site installations
• Site service and maintenance work
• Advanced troubleshooting
• Ordering and managing repair of parts and materials
• Adhere to all Health and Safety, and/or other applicable regulatory requirements
• Working as a member of the local team to provide efficient and cost effective service
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic troubleshooting aptitude
• Must have current drivers licence
• Forklift licence an advantage
• TIG Welding skills anadvantage
• Monday to Thursday 6am to 2.30pm;
• Friday 6am to 12pm;
• Overtime and weekend work will be required
