Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Australia is seeking a reliable Mechanical Fitter - Fixed Plant to join our team at Red Hill Quarry. This hands-on role keeps fixed plant operations running safely and efficiently with a strong focus on preventative maintenance and site improvements.

Key duties include maintenance of crushers, bearings, conveyors and screens; daily inspections; planning maintenance schedules; documenting activities; and contributing to site improvements.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter.
• Experience in quarrying, mining, or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to identify faults and implement safe, effective solutions.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

What the Role Involves

Heidelberg Materials Australia is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Mechanical Fitter - Fixed Plant to join our hardworking team at Red Hill Quarry. This hands-on role is key to keeping our fixed plant operations running safely and efficiently, with a strong focus on preventative maintenance and long-term site improvement.

• Maintenance and repair of fixed plant equipment including crushers, bearings conveyors, and screens - training provided on specific equipment as required
• Strong emphasis on preventative maintenance and condition monitoring Work closely with contractors during shutdowns and major maintenance events
• Perform daily inspections and assist in planning maintenance schedules
• Accurately document maintenance activities and report issues as they arise
• Contribute to ongoing site improvements through practical input and initiative

What We’re Looking For

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
• Experience in quarrying, mining, or similar heavy industry
• Proven ability to identify faults and implement safe, effective solutions
• A proactive mindset with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
