Job summary

MEGT is offering a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice position on Kooragang Island NSW. You will gain hands-on experience in fitting, machining, and plant maintenance within the ammonia and nitrates facilities, supported by one-on-one mentoring and formal TAFE training.

The role provides a nationally recognised qualification and weekly pay, with potential for long-term career development within the engineering sector. Applicants with relevant certificates and transport are preferred.

About the role:

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and gain hands-on experience. Your duties will include but not be limited to:

• Fitting and machining in the Ammonia and Nitrates plants
• Broad exposure to machining and fitting
• Maintenance and installation tasks like pumps, valves, and machinery
• Plant shutdowns across the site
