Job summary

AWX is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our client based in Marrickville. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance and TIG welding, with opportunities in Food/Pharma environments (GMP knowledge). Standard hours are 6am–2pm, Monday to Friday, with OT and weekend work as required.

You will work at Marrickville and Revesby, with both sites planned to relocate to Yennora in mid 2027. The job involves reading drawings, preventative and breakdown maintenance, fault finding, and

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification and experience.
• Electrical Disconnect/ Reconnect Ticket required.
• Food/ Pharma manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with confined spaces and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical fitting, maintenance and repairs (preventative and breakdown).
• Machining parts and TIG welding.
• Upgrading machinery and fault finding.
• Reading mechanical drawings and using hand/tools.
• Tag and test and ensure WHS/site procedures are followed.

Job description

AWX are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our client based in Marrickville. This is an ongoing opportunity for a skilled fitter with strong mechanical maintenance and TIG welding experience. We are seeking candidates who has worked in Food/ Beverage/ Pharmaceutical industries (GMP Knowledge). The role requires you to work Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm with flexibility required for OT and weekend work. There is also a requirement to work at the Revesby site. Both sites are planned to relocate to Yennora in mid 2027.

What You'll Do:

• Mechanical fitting, maintenance and repairs (Preventative and breakdown)
• Machining parts and TIG Welding
• Upgrading machinery
• Fault finding, Tag and test
• Reading mechanical drawings
• Using hand and power tools
• Following all WHS and site procedures

What You'll Need:

• Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification and experience
• Electrical Disconnect/ Reconnect Ticket
• Food/ Pharma manufacturing experience
• Experience working in confined spaces and at heights
• TIG welding experience is essential
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Reliable and safety-focused attitude
• Flexibility for overtime and weekend work
• Ability to work at Marrickville and Revesby as required
