Job summary

Mickala Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician in Mackay, QLD to install, diagnose and maintain mechanical systems across truck models and civil equipment.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, data collection, and training co-workers in safe operation of machinery. A heavy vehicle background and commitment to health and safety are preferred for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance and servicing of trucks and equipment.
• Strong commitment to health and safety requirements.
• Background in hydraulic and electrical systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems
• Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
• Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
• The repair of plant that has broken down.
• Maintain plant records.
• Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Selecting tools and equipment.
• Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements.
• Collecting and analysing data.
• Ensuring compliance with environmentally sound work practises.
• Collection & disposal of waste materials
